Danville Children's Guild is excited to continue our work this year by raising funds for Camp Okizu.  Their mission is “to help all members of families affected by childhood cancer to heal through peer support, respite, mentoring, and recreational programs.”  Camp Okizu is the only childhood oncology camp of its kind in Northern California.  For over 40 years, Camp Okizu has provided a week-long camp to pediatric oncology patients, their siblings and parents. They create a kindred community through which kids feel normal and accepted, have fun in a supportive environment, and escape the rigors of cancer treatment.

Since the financial burden associated with pediatric cancer can be overwhelming and devastating for a family, 100% of children and families in Contra Costa County affected by childhood cancer are eligible to participate free of charge.
